How to spend a memorable family holiday in Gold Coast


If you are planning on travelling with your family in tow, one of the best places to head to is Gold Coast. There is plenty to see and do here, especially for kids and they would love it. The Gold Coast is home to some of the best theme parks in Australia, has spectacular beaches and unspoiled hinterland. Here are some of the best parks you can visit with the whole family.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

An attraction that has gained a lot of love from families who love the wildlife that you can find in Australia, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the place to be. You can see many different kinds of animals close up and the children can learn a lot about these animals, their natural habitat, what they eat as well as some fascinating facts. If you arrive early you will find that you can join the 8 am lorikeet feeding session and spend a day cuddling a koala, meeting a kangaroo as well as many vibrant presentations of various animals the likes of snakes, birds and crocodiles. Currumbin is open from 8 am to 5 pm every day.

Sea World

A family trip is only complete if you have had the chance to visit Sea World in Gold Coast. Easily accessible from local resorts the likes of Avani Broadbeach Residences, Sea World is home to a myriad of Australian marine life including stingrays, polar bears, penguins and dolphins. It mostly caters to families with very young children but if your children love animals this place should definitely be on your list. Movie World Gold Coast

Another spectacular theme park that can be easily accessed from any of the family hotels in Gold Coast is Movie World. It has great roller coaster rides and some fascinating shows on display including stunt shows, a superhero parade where you can meet and greet with the characters and rides catered to children of all ages. Movie World Gold Coast is open from 9.30 am to 5 pm daily. Tickets cost $99 for adults and $89 for children. As with Sea World, children under the age of three go free.

Wet and Wild Gold Coast

If you are planning to visit the Gold Coast in the summer your first theme park should be Wet and Wild Gold Coast. It is a great place where your whole family can have loads of fun while staying cool. You will find some fascinating rides and slides, some of which are the tallest and fastest in the world. Wet and Wild Gold Coast is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm with tickets priced at $79 for adults and $74 for children.

Tropical Fruit World

Something a little out there and exciting is Tropical Fruit World. It is a great place for the whole family that is located just across the border from New South Wales where you will be able to try all kinds of tropical fruit that you won't have eaten before or in some cases have never heard of. You can also learn interesting facts about the fruits in this beautiful property. It is located on Duranbah Road and opens daily from 10 am to 4 pm. It costs just $48 for adults and $28 for children and makes for an educational experience that you can leave with your stomach full.
